Shortform is a wonderful platform and company! I am grateful to the Shortform team for both their product and their swift resolution to an account issue I face! It is good to know that there are companies that still put people at the front of their mission.

I've tried several book summary apps and I like this one the best. They frequently add new titles and the library is exhaustive. I found after some time, that I prefer to read full books.

Do not trust Shortform's "free trial" offer. I subscribed only because a "1-week free trial" was clearly advertised. There was no trial. I was charged $3,999.00 MXN immediately — the full price — for something I explicitly signed up to try for free first. When I asked Shortform to fix their own mistake, they refused to take any responsibility and told me to go deal with Apple. It's Shortform's product, Shortform's promotion, and Shortform's price — but the moment there was a problem, they pointed the finger elsewhere and left me chasing a refund I never got. The excuse later given was that my account "wasn't eligible" for the trial. Then why was the free-trial offer displayed to me at all? Shortform advertises a trial, lets you subscribe on that basis, takes your money in full, and then hides behind Apple when you complain. That is a deceptive, bait-and-switch experience, plain and simple. I'm now out $3,999.00 MXN and have filed a formal consumer complaint. If you're considering Shortform, know that their "free trial" may cost you the full subscription with zero recourse and zero accountability from the company. Avoid.

I love short form! I can’t help but reading it when it’s there. The summaries are perfect. They really let you know where the writers head is at. That’s what I love I don’t have to read the whole book just short form and it cuts out all the parts there was no need to read. A++++++

I wanted to really like this so I tried the free trial. When I compared a couple of the short forms to books that I had actually read from front to cover, I found that they were missing some key elements. That made me a little bit nervous. I'm sure that overall I give them a three star because they do give you a summary but I guess maybe everybody's key points could be different. I don't know. I just found it wasn't really for me as I didn't fully trust it.

This is a terrible, terrible, predstory company. One of the worst experiences I've had with online platform. They had very questionable credit card charging practices, and their customer service is equally as bad. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Shortform is great for certain type of people at a specific time of their life. I used to really like using Shortform. Everything I learned was applicable to my situation at that time of my life. Hopefully, you will also give it a try to test if it works on your current life or not. 5/5. If it does not work, it just means you are set for something else now.
