The SW is good value but has some bugs. It is quite annoying to have to install AI features the first time you use it. This is after you just installed the SW. You then have to wait 15mins for it to install. One of the new feature in Photo 2026 is Color Negative to convert camera scans of negatives to a positive. Make sure it works with your RAW files. It does not work with OM System ORF files. This is a feature I upgraded to Photo RAW 2026 for. I reported this to ON1 and I am still waiting for a fix. This is after 4 weeks. Apart from that it is great.
The old 2025 ON1 is much better because it doesn't crash when I select 500+ photos and then export them on my macbook air. The 2026 version chugs memory and I have to export 35 maximum photos at a time or it chugs even more memory than I have and then it crashes. It's slower exporting and makes it even hotter. The experience while editing is a but better but the lack of information from one version to another made me go in the toolbars looking for the options that before were available on the right click option.
The software continuously crashes with only one photo in it. I haven’t tried multiple photo editing, constantly, getting stuck in a loading screen as well.
Having come from many years of Lightroom use there was some initial doubts but gradually working with the included lessons and videos I am extremely satisfied and impressed with the program now, and have recently removed LR completely. I would highly recommend this software for anyone looking for something similar to LR, I'm very impressed with ON1
So far, I like this application a lot (I have the 2026 MAX version). Still have a bit to learn as the interface is quite different than Ps or LRC, which I have been using for decades.
My subscription had been inadvertently canceled because I did not see the renewal notices. The service tech made that right and helped me clarify and reinstate my account. Thank you for wonderful service.
I have an on-again/off-again relationship with ON1. I have used ON1 pretty much since the beginning because I did not want to pay the ADOBE price after they broke everything up and cost sky rocketed. After a couple of Photoshop Summits, I switched. Photoshop got simplified and ON1 more difficult. The layout got more confusing. I still used ON1 as a plug-in to lightroom/photoshop because I liked some of the presets I purchased. Now I have a subscription to both Adobe and ON1. Adobe is in the process of acquiring Topaz Labs which I used to use allot. Especially Denoise, and Sharpening. On1's new noise reduction software was a good deal, so I bought it to try out. I will soon be Off-Again with ON1 because of an update. The new update for 26.3 keeps crashing my computer. I stopped reporting it, because everything still works but I have to reboot my system. Also, installing new presets I purchased or got for free, will not install. The instructions are not clear and some of the actions just aren't there. Installing anything new in ON1 has turned out to be a pain. So, back to Photoshop. ON1 is a great program and has done a great job on some of my fine art photography. However, I just wish the creators would stop tinkering with it and just let it settle down and let it work the way it is supposed to.
