Auctioneers create a club, they can control the bidding, force higher bids off your bid, sell total junk,by posting it in their favor. You decide you got took, they ban you thru HiBid. Product safety commission, needs to look into auction sites, you can't use "As is" So many better auction sites, fair auction sites.
Descriptions don’t mention condition not shown in pictures
Across the country auctions don’t allow you to inspect items and most auctions have vague descriptions. I purchased electronics that didn’t even turn on. And pictures don’t show true condition.
So I had bid on about $1,000 worth of Switch 2 games. It wasn't until after I put in bids that I realized that every single game was just a code and an empty box (that wasn't mentioned in any of the listings.) I asked that seller to decline my bids on those items - which apparently lowered my my hibid score. Having a lowered hibid score now causes people to periodically declne my bids now, and EVERY #$%@#$%$# time that happens they lower my score again. My score will just continue to get worse and worse, and there is nothing you can do about it. Customer support just straight up said they couldn't help me. Absolutely ridiculous..
Your invoices are sent within a few hour after closing. You are open 7 days a week to accommodate any and everyone. No other auction does this. You give refunds that are fair and just. Thank you - Lloyd Tapp.
For me personally, I have trouble trusting a platform that lets anyone who’s willing to pay create auctions and without any type of vetting for legitimacy. I have already experinacd a fraudulent auction and now whorling with my bank to file chargebacks. There are plenty of legiimet site that provide a much better customer experience. This is not one of them and highly recommend to avoid if new.
there is no consistency from sellers as far billing/contacting after an item is won... some take weeks to contact you, after multiple inquires. One told me he doesn't do texts, only phone calls. 3rd party shipping is a crap shoot... you never know what they will charge before purchase. STOP the AI within the key word searches!!! I need accuracy not a wide net for my searches. EX: key word search "Decanter" and you 35 pages of pitchers!!! Fix your filters, allow for elimination of words in search. BTW, Check out how eBay does it. Reinstate the " " marks around a word, to have an exact return, its universal Some items I have seen now for 5+ years from the same auction house, they keep reposting them, not sellin ... are they dead? Seriously annoying. include a new return sorting option of "most recently listed" dropdown tab. It wastes so much time going through a full list returned each time for a search. "ending soonest" does you no good for a new search as some listings are a month out. You need a way to rate sellers by buyers ... some are excellent, some just don't care about communication or quality. an acurate size (height at least) listed for ALL items... an out of focus ruler 10" away is not accurate. Sellers must supply pics of the bottom of a piece too! these are overall, general remarks from using your site for many years. Not directed at my most recent experiences.
I like the changes to.the search. I used to get frustrated entering postal.code and distance most searches on my smartphone. I did have a few timeouts when looking at more items on a closing auction but overall the bidding works well.
HiBid has developed a good system of advertising and hosting auctions. The webpages are easy to search and navigate. The auctions they associate with are well-run. What's going to bring down online auctions is shipping charges, but that's not HiBid's fault.
I've bid on several items from lots of different locations with good success and most items I've won are in decent condition only a couple that were broken but for the most part very pleased
I can’t think of a time where I had any negative experience with HiBid. I would say you’re doing it right as far as I can tell. Keep up the great service… it is appreciated! Mark Meyer
Everything was as pictured, easy pay, easy pick up. I love it! You items you need, at prices you can afford. I've bought several times through HiBid auctions!
I will not purchase again from Summit Auction Galleries
It is Summit Auction Galleries out of Houston Texas. Everything went well until shipping and receiving my product. I paid promptly due to a phone call stating their system was not working so I paid on July 9! As of August 1, I still do not have my items and after 3 attempts to contact them I get a text back stating they will deal with it on Monday. All I want is a tracking number so I can find my items that I paid for! Rude and not helpful at all. I live in Arizona so even if it took 10 days to process I should have my items within 20 days. This is the second issue with this auction company.
Won a couple of lots at a reasonable price. However, it would be helpful if the auctioneer would indicate if the model train locomotives actually operate or if they are being sold as "parts &repair."
The announcements about upcoming auctions and opportunity to review items a couple days is helpful, and I like the opportunity to enter bids as it's live and winding down--gets pretty exciting/nailbiting!! What I would REALLY appreciate is a better idea of the items' sizes rather than a ruler placed at an angle next to them. That could make a real difference sometimes prompting me to bid on more.
St. Louis Estate Sales is practically the only seller I use on HiBid as they have no buyers premium and the majority of items I buy are for a nonprofit. Their service and professionalism is great - highly recommended. The HiBid platform itself is easy to use and user friendly👍👍
